In this collection different questions, methods of approach and demands for the application of Ergonomics in Design are presented. The technological evolution observed in the last decades has provided countless benefits for the increase in the quality of life of people, but it has also resulted in several problems of technological interface, which generate constraints, accidents, and frustration to consumers. Such issues are analyzed in the book, in which topics of great relevance are highlighted, such as: the use of medical and hospital equipment by obese individuals and wheelchairs by elderly individuals; ergonomic evaluations of school spaces and equipment; reading difficulties on labels and package inserts; the use of a protective vest in police activities, women's shoes with high heels or the seat of the urban bus driver, among others. The articles report research carried out in the Graduate Program in Design at UNESP, Campus Bauru, and emphasize the importance of applying ergonomics in the design of products and systems, with the aim of developing technologies to improve the quality of human life.… (more)
